Welcome to the Department Of Botany !
The Department of Botany was established in 2012 as an Honours subject with the aim of fostering a deep understanding of plant sciences. Since its inception, the department has been committed to providing quality education and research opportunities in various branches of botany, including plant physiology, taxonomy, ecology, and biotechnology. The department excels in cultivating ornamental and medicinal plants in its botanical garden, promoting conservation and research in plant sciences.
The department adopted the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) in the academic session 2016-17 and implemented the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 with the objective of holistic nurturing of individuals with multidisciplinary approach and ample practical knowledge.
It has well- equipped laboratories and dedicated faculties, the department emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills with various co-curricular activities. It has a wall Magazine where students showcase their scientific thoughts and imagination every week through small articles, posters, and models, fostering creativity and knowledge sharing.
Through seminars, field visits, and hands-on experiments, the Department of Botany continues to inspire future botanists, contributing to the advancement of plant sciences and sustainable development.

VISION
Our goal is to equip students for lifelong learning by highlighting the vast world of plant knowledge and introducing them to the methodology of systematic academic inquiry. With this approach, we strive to establish a strong foundation in all aspects of Botany while exploring a wide range of modern trends in the field.
