DEPARTMENT OF SANSKRIT
Welcome to department of Sanskrit.
In 2003-04, Sanskrit was introduced as an honors paper. Initially, the number of seats was 16, but in 2016-17, it was increased to 32. Currently, Pipli College, Pipli, offers a 3-year B.A. (Honors) in Sanskrit with a total of 32 seats. Sanskrit is considered one of the oldest classical languages in the world and has a rich literary heritage spanning thousands of years. The department offers courses and programs that explore various aspects of Sanskrit, including grammar, literature, philosophy, and religious texts.
The Department of Sanskrit is an academic division dedicated to the study and preservation of the ancient Indian language, Sanskrit. It focuses on grammar, literature, philosophy, religious texts, and various branches of knowledge, such as medicine, astronomy, and mathematics, contained within its rich literary heritage. The department aims to promote research and enhance understanding of ancient Indian culture through Sanskrit texts.
VISION
The vision of the Sanskrit Department revolves around preserving and promoting the rich tradition of Sanskrit knowledge, interpreting ancient wisdom in a modern context, and fostering a deep understanding of Indian culture and knowledge systems.preservation of ancient texts, manuscripts, and traditions while promoting their relevance in contemporary society.Sanskrit departments aim to facilitate a deep understanding of India’s vast and complex knowledge systems, including Vedic, classical, and Shastric traditions. The department’s vision includes providing students with comprehensive education in Sanskrit, preparing them for careers in academic research and other fields.
MISSION
The mission of the Sanskrit Department is to actively and consistently promote and preserve the higher values and ethics in education. The department strives for excellence in all areas to enrich our character, tradition, culture, nation, and humanity at large.
